Bank Street Diversity Mural

This mural, meant to recognize the history and diversity of the Bank Street community, was commissioned and painted in or around 2010 by the Bank Street Business Improvement Association.

The focus is a reproduction of an archival photograph showing a streetcar moving on Bank Street, and shows the old Imperial Theatre (now Barrymore's). Surrounding the 'photo' are a group of various people, from past to present, including Irish immigrants, shoppers and a lesbian couple with their child under a large arching rainbow.

Recently, this mural has been painted over and no longer has any specifically queer content.
